The one were we went to Friends Fest

I will confess when I heard about Friends Fest I was to use a yoof term "well jel".  I had been a huge friends fans when it came out.  I was obsessed with the Ross and Rachel will they/won't they storyline.  I loved Chandler and his quick wit (I think I secretly thought I was just like him), when people said I was just like Pheebs I would pout (deep down I was ecstatic, she was my fav).

To this day I still use the catchphrases and without fail crack up when I hear "Pivot, pivot, pivot!"  GO had an idea we'd go to Friends Fest in Cardiff and combine it with other nearby things to do.

I was very excited, I checked the weather everyday for about a week before hand, clear skies a slight chance of rain.  The day of the road trip it started to rain but even this couldn't dampen my spirits.

We checked into the hotel and made our way to Bute Park, we had an idea of where we were going... or did we?  Just as we thought we were lost we saw a sign.  Not a spiritual one, an actual sign we were headed in the right direction.  Oh My God!  I was beyond excited,  my face felt tingly. Quite tingly, wet in fact. It was blooming raining.

Like a good girl guide, I am always prepared, out came the pack a macs and umbrella, nothing was going to rain on my parade, literally. As we arrived the site was laid out in a rectangle to the left was the Las Vegas and Prom Night photo booths.

Our first attempt, at the photo booth, was a bit soggy and prop less, so once the rain let up I was round there like a flash. Getting all dressed up with somewhere to go.

Our set tour was booked four half five, so we a couple of hours to get around the set pieces.  There was a photo opp for central perk, where you could work behind the coffee shop bar, sit on "the sofa", and play Smelly Cat on stage, just like Phoebe.

On leaving Central Perk we began queuing for the set tour, the sun was out an it was starting to get hot.  Red face, kind of hot.  The set tour, we were told, were the exact sets of Monica's and The Boy's apartments.  There was a small exhibition of props from the show Ross' leather trousers, the Geller Cup, Joey's VD poster, and the holiday Armadillo.  All around me people we excitedly giggled and screamed.  It all felt slightly manic.

The set themselves were exact replicas of those on the TV show. We got to sit on the Lazy Boy loungers, grab a pizza from the fridge, and have a spot of tea at Monica's kitchen table.  It was cheesy but absolutely awesome.

After the set tour we queued for the Title Shot, GO grabbed us a couple of coffees from Central Perk and then we planned which shot we'd have.

As we emerged the heavens opened. On went the oak a macs, rather than make our way back to the hotel we bundled up under the umbrella and watched a reel of Friends best bits.
Don't you just love British Summers?
