I knew this week would be a tad bitty. It's transition week and I have nothing to transition to. I had a "normal" Monday with my class, they then spent Tues and Weds with their new teacher and Thurs with a "supply". I was teaching 5 and 6 Weds, covering appraisals in the afternoons and Year 1 all day Thurs (which I was really looking forward to).
It was Tuesday morning that I realised I had no job for the morning. The head apologised and gave me some admin jobs, I was determined to make them last all morning. I took small piles of paper to the bins and when the site manager offered to help I snapped "No! Then they'll give me others jobs!" Just as got myself into a nice little I bumped into the year 5 teacher who had a lot of admin to catch up on. The head said give it to C she can do it while you go swimming. The year 5 teacher heard the following "you do it C can go swimming with your class". Which is how an hour later I found myself on the side of a pool while 26 children had a "fun" lesson. The each swam two widths and then spent half an hour dropping and picking up weights. Had we been in the playground and I asked them to pick up sticks they wouldn't have lasted five minutes but I'm water it was the most fun they'd had all year. They swam a couple more widths and then got out and changed. It felt lime the longest hour, it was so langweilich.
My sortout job
