Five weeks together, it's what we've always wanted, and this year we get paid too. However it is day two and we are already getting each other's nerves. It started with non working internet, I knew how to fix it but GO kept blaming the app. Eventually I fixed it as well as sorting out the laundry. Then we began bickering about our plans for the day. We'd planned to do nothing, I warned him that this meant no visitors. He has a habit of saying yes come over we're not doing anything. As I'm up to my neck in laundry, hoovering and bleaching the toilet. He doesn't understand that I have put so much time and effort into school that housework took a back seat. Superficially it is clean, but not as clean as it would be had I been on top of it all. Having people drop by unannounced does nothing to help my anxiety. So I made him promise that he would just this once say no, so we could really have a relaxing day together. We started watching home movies where he made "funny comments" about me that were quite hurtful (he never apologises for these comments). We moved onto Pocahontas, I have vowed to educate him in the ways of Disney before the end of the summer. I suggested hotdogs for lunch. The final straw came when I saw how this professional chef, this man who spends up to eleven hours a day in a kitchen, cut the hotdog rolls.
I mean who does this? He's not a chef he's a butcher! Worse still they aren't connected tips and bottoms.
What the heck? Let's hope we make it through the next five weeks in one piece, like the hotdog rolls should have been.
