As we couldn’t afford to go away to far, again, we decided to visit a very special place. Oxford is where we met, it’s where we first lived together, it’s where we got married. It was hard to move away but I still believe that it was the right decision for us. I do like to go on a visit every now and then to touch base and this year boy has it changed. With the arrival of a new shopping centre a lot of the footfall around the city centre has fallen which meant that is wasn’t quite the crush that it usually is. The new shopping centre is quite lovely.
There are a lot of boutique shops, high street favourites and as always Primark. On the third floor there are bars and restaurants with amazing views of the Oxford dreaming spires, there is a food court on the ground floor, which is not dissimilar to Street Food vendors. It was nice to visit but it felt a bit like they had taken bit of the Trafford Centre and Leeds and combined them. It’s a long way to go and honestly once you’ve seen the spires once, do you need to see them again. I mentioned visiting At Christmas time but was told that in the winter the design on the mall means it becomes a giant wind tunnel and it’s freezing.
