Typisch Deutsch

Mamilein is always finding new and fantastic things in the shops.  Her latest find is a new type of Haribo sweets that has representations of all things German.

There were pretzels, sausages, footballs and also landmarks like the Kölner Dom, Schloß Neuschwanstein, and the Brandenburg Turm. 

It was lovely to eat so many things German. 

Summer Time Chills

We've had a lovely time chilling out with mamein and papichen.  Just hanging around and making a nuisance of ourselves.

Motherland

After an uneventful trip I have arrived in the motherland, Deutschland.

As I came through customs who was there to welcome me?  No one, we had arrived half an hour early and I had beaten my parents to the airport, which is a first in the fifteen years I have been making this trip.

After the customary hugs and chit chat about how great it was that my parents didn't need to pay for parking, my mum announces she is hungry and we make a pit stop in the local McDonalds, no Big Mac it McRib for me, oh no, I have a craving for McNugggets with Sweet and Sour sauce, you can't get suss sauer sauce anywhere!

Then were off, two hours bombin along the Autobahn and then we'll be home.  

Although you never know where you will stop off on the way.

Germany - Algeria

Yet again we are watching another match.  It was supposed to be a simple match, but the Algerians aren't giving Germany an easy ride.  As usual Muller has been working his socks off, but he just can't seem to steer the ball goal-wards.  

I predict we will be going into extra time. Well the game went into extra time, the final score was Germany 2 - Algeria 1

The first half was, boring and I found myself checking Twitter, Buzzfeed and the like.

Then shortly after Ghana scored and my National pride kicked in, we have to win this.  

Deutschland vor, noch win Tor!

And so for the ninth evening in a row I sat watching shrieking, moaning, cheering and jeering with the crowd. 

So many near misses, so many edge of the seat moments in the second half.

One day I will have a house like this, maybe...

And the score was 2-2.

This World Cup is so exciting.
