Longest day

"Maybe you should stay at home and relax" Mamilein could tell that I was tired and she said she didn't need me to come with her to her appointment at the radiologist.  She has had issues with her joints for a while and her new doctor wanted everything tested and trie checked.  "If you don't come you won't get to go shopping it have any curry wurst". Now even papichen was getting in on the Catholic guilt thing.  So I dutifully set my alarm for half six and got dressed.  My first annoyance was the fact that I had woken up early (an hour early than when I work) to sit on the sofa until right O clock, so we can relax before we go he said.  I could've stated in bed!  Then we arrived only to find we were in the wrong place.  Once we had finally made it up the four flights of stairs in the correct building on the right side of town, we sat in the waiting room. Mamilein was having her elbow xrayed, it shouldn't take long.  Famous last words.
Five hours later she'd had an intitial consultation which involved talking about each joint. The doctor, who had a statuette of his own head on his desk, rammed (and I mean RAMMED) a huge needle into Mamilein's arm.
It was presumably filled with dye for the radiographer to photograph.  After the consultation we waited for another half and hour before she had her first X-ray.  We were then told we had a forty minute wait until the next X-ray, they took another one to make sure that the first was accurate.  I had enough experience of medical investigations to know it wasn't going to be a quick visit but I didn't expect it to take five hours.  I brought my Kindle with me so I was partly entertained and after a few hours though I started to get bored so pass the time ran up and down the stairs.  This had a double bonus of wasting time and adding steps to my fitbit.
I managed to keep Papichen entertained for about five minutes by giving him the sketch pad on my I phone, which he predictably turned into a Bob Ross Landscape.
