1000 miles in Buende

To make the most of the break in the rain, and to check out the damage caused by hurricane Nicholas that had ripped through Northern Germany, mum and I decided to go for a walk around the fields.  I knew I could tick off another 2.2 miles on the 1000 mile challenge.
Mmamilein has been suffering with her knee recently, she is having an Osteo-arthritis flare up, and she couldn't walk far, so she decided to cycle alongside me.
We saw many trees that had been uprooted and lakes that only the day before had been fields.
It was nice to get out into the fresh air, especially as I have been suffering with a horrible cold that has settled firmly on my chest.
So many routes to take, in the end we just did a quick out and back up to the stork nest.
The river had burst it's bank, the water was receeding.
Mum made the most of the Cyclist rest spots as she waited for me to catch up.
My walking partner didn't hang around.

You can just spot the stork nest.
