Arthur’s Seat

It must be our anniversary the sun is shining.  Who knew Scotland could be so shiny!
We’ll be back soon Kyloe
We will have our Freedom!!
The Castle in the sunshine, that’s a first.
Posing outside parliament, I needed to use the loo. I got trapped in amongst some Italian students and lost GO.  Found him pulling a sulky pose by the water feature.
I had to get in on the action.
Strike a pose!
I decided that we would mark our fifth anniversary by climbing to the summit of Arthur’s seat.  It’d be a doddle.....
Off we go.
It’s all smiles and giggles at the bottom...
It didn’t look too bad, and in all honesty the climb was not a problem, couldn’t have said that two years ago.
What did make it tricky was the ice and snow.
We kept having to stop and work out safe routes, there were other people walking with us who were illequipped and were falling left, right and centre.
I wasn’t wearing the best shoes, I had converse on, but somehow I stayed upright the whole way.
Stopping for happy snaps.
Letting him lead the way in the slippy bits, I am no fool.
We tried to stay off the main path as it was iciest.
Wow, what a view!
Can you spot the Italians who thought the field would be easier, it wasn’t. Ha ha!
Everyone is waiting for someone else to make the first move.
Finally we made it to the summit.
Summit selfie, almost.
Now we have to get back down again.
It was okay, but some of the drifts were deep and sloppy.
I fell often, much to GO’s joy and amusement, until he fell.  Then it wasn’t funny anymore.
Got down, but this wasn’t where we had statrted, was it?
Oh well we squelched our way back to civilisation, it got hotter and hotter with each step.
But we did it!
We walked up there!

Happy Anniversary

Let’s Stay Local

I have worked out to survive the weather, two coats!  Not too enamoured by the hotel breakfast, I persuaded GO to out for breakfast.

By out, I meant a big Scottish breakfast in Morrisons, co plate with a square sausage and Irn Bru.

Scotch pancakes too.

Breakfast of champions.

I asked Papichen if he wanted any Scoth pies....

Yes, about 20 would be enough.

Here’s comes the rain, again! What to do?  Let’s go to Murrayfield.

Murray by name, Murray by the big sign on the side of the building.

Two wet Murrays.

He’s always up to something

GO is always up to something, sometimes it’s simple things and on other occasions he pulls out real show stoppers.  I have always said that the one thing that makes me sad about our wedding was that I never got more than a bite of our cake.  It was made by my friend “Earth Mother” and it looked amazing.  All I got to taste of it was a bite for the photos.
Of all of the plans GOnhad made for our anniversary week the one he wouldn’t tell me
about was Wednesday.  All I knew was that we had to be at a certain place to pick something up.
All was revealed, soaked to the bone and desperate for something to eat we picked up his order. It was a custom made anniversary chocolate cake, with thistles and macarons.  We took it back to the hotel, I popped into Starbucks to pick up a couple of coffees and then we tucked in.  It was delicious, but after a couple of slices I couldn’t eat anymore.  Well played GO, you really know me well.

Ciao Chao Baby

GO continued with the fancy evening treats with trip to Chaopraya (Chaobaby’s big sister).

GO struggles to find my good side.

What is he doing?

Getting my photographical revenge, ha ha.

It feels like a medical centre.

Just to reassure they have a TV advert on in the lobby.

Getting our FREE!!! Cocktails on!

Not the greatest, but they again had live music.  It felt like a student union, again wouldn’t play “Smelly Cat!”

Oh yay more rainy drunken street wandering.
