Mighty Minden

The Weihnachtmarkt was still on, it would have been rude not to pay a visit.

They add paprika to their onions when they fry them, they are scrummy.

Mamilein and I went inside the Christmas tree.
We've been coming here for years and this is the first time we realised you can go in the tree.

In the tree selfie.

The scariest Santa Claus I've ever seen..

German Christmas Market

Is that a big tree?

First day back home and we made our way over to the Minden Weihnachtsmarkt.  Amongst all the usual highstreet stores and under the gorgeous  Landhaus still buildings were row upon row of gorgeous little huts.  After visiting both the London and Oxford Christmas markets it was nice to go to a 'proper' markt.

Minden our own business

There are many little towns around Buende, some we always visit and I love, some in have to be dragged to.
Minden has always been one of the latter.  For the amount of time it takes to get there, there is nothing out of the ordinary.
The shops are the same but smaller with less on offer.
Today I went with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised.
The shops are still small, but the town itself is lovely with gorgeous olde worlde building, not disimilar to Oxford.
Today they were preparing for the Kultur Fest.
They Germans do know how to throw a party.
