I needed that

After a tense day at work, I read with a little girl who made my week, possible even my year without even trying to.  She was reading the Julia DOnaldson book A Squash and A Squeeze, at the end of the book (spoiler) after she removed all of the animals her house feels enormous and she begins to frolic.  The little girl read this as; "She frogs lice, yes she frog's lice.  I love little people.

P.S  When I googled the words frog lice this is the bizarre image that I found.

I have come to the conclusion...

It hasn't been the easiest of weeks/months/years/jobs,  I have to admit I miss the days where I was penniless and happy, and look forward to those days returning soon.  I am on the hunt for a new position, I have made a some interesting discoveries (to be explored more before I announce) recently and I know that brighter days are ahead of me.

After yet another city mourns, I was recently reminded  of a social media post I had read.  The author explained  that when they were younger  and would see harrowing images on the TV  screens their mother would say; look for the helpers. Even at the worst of times there are always people around willing to lend a hand and help.  It is a sentiment that is truer today than ever before.  At the worst moments in history, humanity is always their  to help, support and guide us.  These angels take all shapes, sizes and creeds. They often don't even realise how  helpful they have been, and how greedily  the support they offer is taken.  Thank you to all of lifes  helpers, as long as we  see you in the midst of all the carnage we will know humanity still exists, love is still strong and  hatred hasn't won.

Is it spring?

Do you think spring has sprung?  I hope so I need some sunlight.

Makes me laugh

I got an ominous text from GO then other day, what have you been buying?  I was worried I had been on a bit of an amazon spree recently.  Um..books, I'd just say it was books for school or something.  Then I looked at the photo that was attached and burst out laughing, there was no way I could say books.

Turns out is was a laundry basket and a kitchen bin.

I can't believe it's Saturday

It's the first weekend in a long time that we have nothing planned, school work is all done/being postponed.  So I've treated myself to some classic hallmark movies, chocolate cake and a chai latte.  Ah bliss, me time to the max.

Jay Kay here we come

We have tickets forJamiroquai in November woo hoo

You Can Go Your Own Way - it's not a suggestion

Oh the irony.  As Fleetwood sang "You can go your own way..." On the radio GO headed the wrong way up a one way street.  Life with him is never tedious.  I may need to find a loo soon though...

Post Modern Jukebox

We had a relaxing morning at home, coffee in bed, full English breakfast, we caught up with laundry/marking/Saturday night telly.  Then we set off for Liverpool.  I'd Facetimed Mamilein on Saturday and had a nice long catch up.  We finally arrived after getting stuck in some horrendous traffic.  We spent time sightseeing, we went to the Tate in the Albert dimockd and even saw the Tracey Emin bed.  The gallery was quite quiet but was full of lots of weirdos, turns out there was a comiccon happening at the convention centre nearby.
After a out stop at Pizza Express we headed to the philharmonic Hall it was amazing, so very beautiful.  We knew we would be in the nose bleed section it gave a view of the whole stage.  The performance was incredible, everyone there enjoyed themselves.  The music was infectious and I loved that I could sing along to every song.

What a relief the week is over, I am looking forward to a nice rest. The VIP paid a visit recently and wasn't overly impressed with the infant department so big changes were deemed to be in order. I was concerned at first, that is was a reflection of my teaching, it wasn't, it was to do with everybody's favourite beast Data. At least the kiddiewinks are making progress however slowly it may be.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to our lovely little niece, she is three year sold today.  We had a lovely afternoon spending time with you and I am glad that you enjoyed your ice cream cart (although in hindsight buying you and your sister noisy and irritating gift make come back to haunt us one day).

World Book Day 2017

I always have fun thinking of outfits for World Book Day this year I decided to be the Bad Tempered Ladybird.  It have me an excuse to be grumpy all day (seems to be my default setting at the moment).  It was fun to start with being bad tempered but after about an hour my head started to hurt.  It's good to know that my brain doesn't like being grumpy.

Post Note I couldn't remember what I dressed up as last year.  I knew it wasn't going to be my usual lets go for it outfit as we were living with GO's parents.  Then it came back to me, I went as the Girl with the Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. I just wore jeans and a top and tied lots of red yellow and orange ribbon to my finger.

For the love of a Ginger One
