Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

We spent an afternoon cycling along the Lytham seafront last year and it stuck in my mind, it was so lovely.  A really quaint little town, I convinced GO that we should spend the day there exploring before heading to Blackpool for the Illuminations.

We went for a wandered along the seafront before heading into town for a spot of lunch, you can’t beat chips and gravy.  We didn’t have any change so it was a portion between two.  Which was actually just enough.

Birthday Glam

For my birthday this year GO took me to Bertram’s a five star restaurant in Burnley.  It’s is part of the Woodland Spa resort and over looks the lovely rolling penine hills.  We were very lucky to get a booking as we had left it  the last minute (shock, horror) and it is very popular. Our only option was the early bird slot, which actually turns out to be a gray slot. The staff weren’t run off their feet, they had stone for all the guests and we saw a glorious sunset out of the huge picture windows.  The food was Devine, superb portion sizes, we will definitely be back, maybe for New Year?

Happy Birthday Lilbro

As a special treat for Lilbro’s birthday we went to watch his favourite football team.  I recorded a lot of the goals but would get so involved watching them I kept forgetting to press record.  I did manage to catch the announcement of a new player which was a surprise for everyone.  I managed to keep lilbro updated by text and nearly died when I told him that player ten had been injured and taken off.  It took me longer than I care to admit before I realised that they were wearing number ten, as that was the name of their sponsor.

La Luna

I knew as I walked out of the cinema in January that I had watched something amazing, something very special and when I saw an advert for an outdoor screening I couldn’t resist booking it.  I went the whole hog, full VIP, it was also being screened at my most favourite place in the UK, Waddeson manor.  We had a glorious summer, a heatwave like no other, there were droughts up and down the country, yet on that day it rained.  It rained so hard. It couldn’t have been any wetter but I loved it.
