Wow Doesn't he look good?

I was shocked recently when time hop showed me a picture of GO and myself from four years ago, he looked huge.  He had and always will be chubby and I love that about him.  Before we moved I was worried about his health, he never ate properly and was always tired.  His tummy looked so stretched I thought he would pop.

Since moving to the NorthernShire he has become more active, eats health meals and doesn't drink much alcohol or fizzy drinks. Obvs the Minlaw is taking the credit, but I think it is all down to GO. At least now I know he'll be around for a while.

Oh Lord what have I done?

WHAT A WEEK!
Haha so funny! I can be a real pill at work. I can be too serious, take my job too seriously. Sometimes I imagine it's hard on others. But, this is true! Lol:
I have a class of 30, six and seven year olds.  I know I have high expectations of them after my previous class, but some of  these children are so educationally poor.

There are issues with behaviour, no SEN children, at the mo (not officially anyway). Some of the parents are down right rude and aggressive.

I suppose you could say that I got what I asked for, a bit of a challenge....  But this is ridiculous.  I'm finding it hard making friends, as all I want at the end of the day is to have a shower and then binge watch OITNB Netflix.

I hope it gets better, I hate September....

I am one in 5 milion

I got tickets to watch the first episode of Strictly Come Dancing being filmed on the 24th of September.

I am so excited, I can't wait to go, must invest in some more sequins for my wardrobe.

Sunday night insomnia, I am bracing myself for the onslaught of teaching year two children, who are supposedly the loveliest children in the school, in a RI school for the next year.  36% got to ARE in year one but the target if for 73% to get it at the end of year two...  I give you one of the most stressful jobs I have ever had.  How to prepare for this?  Cup of tea, comfy pj's and Victoria, I have fallen out of love with Poldark (I find it quite boring).

I could get use to this

I couldn't take any food back with me after visiting the 'rents because of the fluid limits on planes.  This has meant that I have no curry ketchup, so I did what any self respecting German does, I google the recipe and found the easiest one I could.  I was sceptical at first, as the original recipes didn't taste as good I wanted it to, but with a few tweaks I now have the recipe for an also exact copy of the Hela Ketchup I adore.  I will still buy a bottle of two to bring back with me at Christmas.

Did I mention it's my birthday?

I have been, well and truly spoiled, as the social media greeting goes.  My birthday this year was a biggie, 40, but I'm not really too bothered about celebrating.

Most often the parties are for other people, so I have decided that each month for the next year I will do something that celebrates me.  OK, it's just a way to drag my birthday out for twelves months, why not.  My plans so far, although not set in stone are;
September - go to a show
October - fortieth photo shoot
November - pamper day
December - go to London
January - take a class (drawing, burlesque...)
February - go skiing
March - party
April - go dancing
May - do a big hike - like Hellvellyn
June - go kayaking
July - do a charity run (colour run)
August - have a bit of a do to celebrate my one year anniversary of turning 40
To celebrate my actual birthday GO took me to a the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, it is a gallery that celebrates Northern artists, Wakefield it self was a ghost town.  The gallery is a place for exhibitions and was set up by Barbara Hepworth.
G.O was going to take me out for a meal to a local steakhouse but it was closed, as the day before had been a bank holiday they had taken the day off, how rude!  So we went to the Chinese Buffet (not glamourous but very very yummy).
I received a lot of well wishes, on last count it was well over a hundred people had set me cards, texts, messages and had posted on my wall.  It made me feel all warm and fuzzy seeing all these people taking time out of their days to wish me well.  I was also lavished with many gifts; handbags, earrings, books, and a lovely print by an artist I have loved for a while.
GO discovered that he was at a local shop and arranged for us to visit.  I was able to meet and chat with the artist, who wished me a happy birthday.  As a treat he signed the print for me and gave me a model.
All in all I had a lovely day, the perfect end to a lovely summer.

I was born 40 years ago today

I do love how naive Facebook can be sometimes.  I woke up this morning to a lovely post reminding me that forty years ago today I was born.  As if I would forget that.

For the love of a Ginger One

You are the best friend I have ever had, you have seen me at my best and my worst and you are still here.  You are a wonderful,...
