What is my life?

It’s the hotter day of the year, Football is on and I am stuck inside, procrastinating.  If I get a wriggle on I might get to enjoy some of this wonderful weather.  At least I have Gossip Girl to keep me company.

I can’t help sorry

It’s a bit of a crunch weekend workwise; reports and last days points both need to be in by 9am on Monday.  It’s squeaky bum time, also I have an obs next week too (kids and me are knackered we’lol see...). I had a colleague ask if I could read her reports and I had to say no.  I don’t like saying no but I have my own things to worry about.  One thing I have discovered this year is that it’s okay to say “no”.

I don’t watch Love Island

“Oh god, no, I don’t watch Love Island!”  GO insists he doesn’t like it, but he knows the names of everyone.  As soon as the drama starts he put down his tablet and couldn’t tear his eyes off the screen.

Quarry Bank Mill

We visited briefly last year and the Mill was closed due to refurbishments and there was a wedding so lots of the grounds were off limits.  We decided to give it another go and guess what? The Mill was being refurbished and there was a wedding but we still managed to have a lovely time even though we were melting with each step.

We then decided the best way to cool off was to visit the Trafford Centre, it has air con and Thai.  It was sad to see the moor first from the rooftops and see the damage that a heatwave and a fool can cause.

I treated myself

I have decided to upgrade my wardrobe/life by getting rid of the cheap thing and replace them with quality/worthy products.  We have eco safe washing up liquid, my shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are all paraben and silicone free.  As well as easing my conscience it also lighten my purse.  Being good/healthy ain’t cheap.  Sometimes though, it’s worth paying that little bit extra.  This is so true in the case of my Tom’s, not only are they lovely and comfortable for each pair you buy they give another to someone in need.  It also helps that they have Cinderella fabric, I’m in love.

Date Night

We are embracing Hygge by making the most of each day not just living for the weekend.  So we decided to go the cinema and then took a stroll around the Piece Hall.  I can’t get over how lovely the place is.  Halifax has the potential to be amazing, it’s such a shame the high street is dying.  The architecture is fabulous.

Flashback

In my opinion one of the joys of social media is the ease with which old family photos can resurface.

How long have you had it?

Just shared this with Mamilein and her response was “How do you know?  What can we do?  How long g have you known?”  Well Mamilein I have known since I was 18, how have you not?  She does make me laugh.

What to do?

We’ve been given a day at home to write reports, what do I do?  Sit at home and dutifully complete the reports or take time for myself to go for a walk, eat chips and gravy and treat myself to an ice cream?  I obviously
took the later option, but before you judge. G.O is at work until 8pm today and didn’t need the car, tomorrow he is also working till 8pm. So I decided to go out today and work tomorrow.  Plus side, it’s a 300 word limit per child for the whole report, down side I’m not sure I can limit myself. Brighter side summer holidays are getting closer.  Even brighter side 4.5miles on the bag.

For the love of a Ginger One

You are the best friend I have ever had, you have seen me at my best and my worst and you are still here.  You are a wonderful,...
