I should but...

Got a bit of a bonus day off school today,I should be writing reports but I’ve decided to go to the lake and get some fresh air.  I’ll be housebound tomorrow and will put some effort into writing reports but today I need a bit of self care.  Plus I have the car, I never have the car on a weekend. 

Here we go...

Let’s go, I got Russia in the Sweepstakes at work, which means I’ve just thrown away the £2 I put in the pot. I’m quite excited about it and realised today that means I’ve had this blog for four years now.  Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun.

English Riviera

Where is the best place to spend one of the sunniest weekends of the year so far?  Torbay!  And to make it even more worth it I got to spend some time with SB and LC.  It is always good to catch up with these two lovelies as we have been through so much together.  They know my story and I know theirs.  Each time we meet up we just pick up where we left up.  No dramas, no rivalries just love and laughter, and alcohol.  No sperminator for me today.

Date night, Lake night

We had planned to go to the cinema, GO had arranged for Asterix to have a procedure done, the plan was for him to pick me up and then we’d go to the cinema.  The repairs took longer than anticipated so I took the train to Rochdale to meet him.  It was roasting, I had almost missed the train but I finally arrived.  GO was sat in the car with the air con on full pelt.  “I don’t fancy the cinema shall we just go home....”  Before I could explode he finished with “or the lake?”  So off we went and to make matters better (is that a phrase?) the parking, which is normally astronomical, is free after 6pm.  

So we hit a bistro and had a yummy dinner with lovely lake views.

We are such suckers

When we saw this at the Christmas food and craft show we thought they silly and no one would be interested.  On the hottest day of the year, when we needed respite from the heat we waited patiently for twenty minutes.  We are such suckers, tasted yummy though.

Obvs GO needed to try the unicorn slushie too.

In case you were wondering that is the Question of Sport theme song.   It’s been a long time since we’d been to watch a show being filmed.  Probably because they are filmed down South but GO managed to get tickets to watch Q of S being filmed in Media City in Salford.  We got there quite early so that we could have a bimble around and see the sights.

Paper paper everywhere

I think one of my favourite places to visit nearby is the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, on the whole the exhibitions don’t change.  Occasionally a new exhibit arrives and we make the journey over picnic basket in hand.  I never tell GO what we are going to see I like to surprise him.  Today it was a Japanese paper sculpture that was so ethereal and calming that I found myself just wandering around in a daze.
