Happy Halloween
It’s that time of the year again, let’s get ready for trick or treaters.

But I’m on holiday
It sounded like a request but was in actual fact an order. “Let’s all come in on Tuesday and get the classrooms sorted!” Again picking up the pieces for someone else’s failure. I dragged myself in having collected the car from GO at work. Full of cold and feeling cruddy I arrived and began the Great Pellon chuck out. As bad as I felt there is nice feeling knowing that the room is ready and all I need are a few new displays. I am a bit perved about being asked to do work during the holidays as I don’t get paid, I will chase that up. I’m also not going bust my arse doing paperwork which I have left at school anyway. Rant over, sorry. Onwards and upwards.
Scary Tea
As a back to work treat I made a Halloween tea. We had unicorn horn soup (Chantennay carrots), pumpkin couscous, bloody fingers (hotdogs), and eyeballs (potato balls). For desert I made Halloween Bark.
Charming
GO went to Manchester to a book signing, the guy is a bit of a non entity. He is “famous” for playing tricks on people on Facebook and had actually written a book. “It’s something to do!” Was GO’s reasoning behind it, what he didn’t say was that he bought a copy of the book on Amazon (and then had to buy second copy in the bookshop). The best part of the whole experience for me was when the cheeky tit sent me this message. I actually laughed out loud!

Hauntedish Autumn
GO sold it to me as a haunted house in the middle of the Lancashire countryside. I bought myself a Halloween skirt and some pumpkin accessories, as it got closer anxiety kicked in. I don’t like being scared and am very jumpy as it is. So he did a bit of digging, “oh, mm?” “What?” I asked. “I think it’s aimed at kids, so probably won’t be too scary.”
It turns out, it wasn’t scary at all, the scariest part was finding a parking space. It was a perfect autumn afternoon, chilly but sunny.
We went on the ghoul and ghost trail, warmed ourselves by the fire and had the chance to carve a couple of pumpkins. It was a nice afternoon, very colourful. I enjoyed watching GO carving his pumpkin, he usually tells me what to make and just watches so it made a nice change.
He makes me laugh
We had had a lovely day/evening on the Blackpool front and decided to walk through the back streets to the car as it was less windy/cold. It was peak Saturday night party time, people were spilling out of pubs and clubs. We huddled together and plodded in trying not to antagonise anyone, when we heard a shout. “Hey nice people in front of me!” We turned around and the tiddly guy behind us asked, “Whetenis the Tower?” To which GO asked “Which one?” Only him and only in Blackpool, I laughed and walked away shaking my head. Oh how I love him and his innocent ways.

Ten Years
In the blink of an eye GO and I have reached the ten year mark in our relationship. We met ten years ago today and I thank my lucky stars everyday that this wonderful, caring fantastic guy was brought into my life. He has made my life and my world a better place. I know I can handle anything life throws at me with him by my side. We’ve have had struggles some of which I’ve documented here, others I haven’t and we try to face it all with a smile, looking back together to find the humor. Ginger One (Stuart) I love you more than words can say thank you for being you and don’t change a thing. Here’s to the future.

Seriously?
Well that wasn’t how I was expecting the evening to end. A lovely evening with Thor, Idris Elba and Harvester was ruined by a little yellow envelope on the car. I am not happy and will fight it, the signs were not clear. I make a point of always paying for my parking fines but this time it just isn’t right.

Happy Early Birthday
He’s wanted one for years and I’ve always poopooed the idea of buying one. “We don’t need one.” “They’re not worth the money.” We have our phones/Kindles.” Finally I caved and bought GO the present he has desired most an IPad. It’s a mini one, he doesn’t need a big one. I’ve told him it’s half birthday half
Christmas present and I will be wrapping the box accordingly for him to reopen. I should’ve made him wait a couple of weeks to open it but I couldn’t resist letting him have a fiddle. I’m never going to speak to met husband again, been back a couple of hours and all he has said is “what’s the Netflix password?”
So long Motonovo
Last car payment goes out this week, what a relief. I love our little car, it has served us well.
The car payments have been a quarter of my salary each month for the past five years, and it will be quite a financial load off my shoulders to say the least.
What to buy next?
Long live Asterix and all who sail in him!

Thanks Mother Nature
Just when you think your whole world is work (why do we do it to outselves?) and you are so mired in the stink you can’t pull yourself out of the pit no matter how hard you try. Mother Nature comes to your rescue and puts it all back in to perspective and reminds you that you are just a small part of a very, very big world. If you open your eyes and take a moment to pause and soak it in, the world is full of wonders and magic.
That’s makes so much sense
I have had a rough week!
Work is, and for the foreseeable will remain, stressful. I have doubts/concerns and have toyed with when and how to voice my opinions. This week however I found myself feeling cross and furious and ready for a fight. I was willing to have it out and walk away if necessary. I was so mad all of the time, my emotions were all over the shop, Iwas craving greasy food (I managed to resist the urge) and I was exhausted (earl nights, early mornings were catching up). I was a mess, GO kept looking at me with concern. He kept stroking me and let lie down on the sofa (normally he likes to lie and I like to sit). He was worried. I was worried. The ladies I work with we were (even though I’d only been there four weeks they knew I wasn’t right).
The yesterday after a three hour induction session where we were talked at non stop, I nipped to the loo and everything made sense. The tiredness, grottiness, mood swings and cravings. I wasn’t angry, I was premenstrual. Now I just have to deal with the cramps.
Thanks Mother Nature.
I am so proud of myself
Since I started using my Fitbit in April I have walked the length of Italy, I am very proud of myself.
Twilight Zone
I feel like I am in the twilight zone. I am back in a year group I love and understand but the school is in such dire need of improvement and had a long way to go, I am not sure I have the energy to do it. The monitoring is off the scale intense, they do learning walks each walk for the SLT to discuss what they see with the head to ensure all are singing from the same hymn sheet. I’ve been there four weeks and the number of staff who have resigned or have considered it ranges from 70 - 90%. The well being of the staff is not a priority, no matter how often they say it is. I will keep going just not sure how long I can stand the pressure.

I’m top of the shop
Wow, this has never happened before and I’m sure that it’ll all change in a few hours but for now I’m number one.

Autumn Strolling
I had somehow managed to get all my work finished and was able to spend a whole weekend on myself, and I needed it. I decided to go for a stroll along the canal. We were having a bit of a heatwave and I wanted to make the most of it. I decided that I would make a video entry (I am having issues uploading) while walking along, like some of those insta stories that I see.
While I iron out the kinks here are some pictures I took while strolling.
Let me introduce my first vlog....

Out of this world
I had one of these in my first classroom 14 years ago and I loved it. It was broken by a heavy handed child and I meant to repair it but never got round to it and the care taker threw it away (along with my bike but that’s another story). I told The Ginger One this and he searched for it on EBay. I do love him to bits.
