Well that sums us up

Pretty much sums up GO and me, I jumped in literally feet first and got totally caked in mud. He took his time, planned his route and got home pretty tidily.

Another breakfast post

Still making my way through the breakfast hotlist, it was time for a traditional German breakfast.  I left GO in bed, he didn't even know I'd left the house.  Picked up some Bröttchen from Lidl with some ham and cheese and headed back home for a civilised
With some fruit juice and our new Cafe Latte it was a great start to a great day.
Now what to do for dinner?  And by that I mean our evening meal not lunch as they call it up here.

This is why I need my own space

This is why I need my own space, it's Saturday prevening I have been to the supermarket and stocked up on some bits and pieces for the week.  I've washed and dried a two loads of washing (including the bedding) thanks to  our new washing line.  I've changed the sheet, cannot wait for that clean bed feeling.  I've organised all of my school books (there aren't as many as some people have suggested, drama queens) and got the office ready for the new desk to arrive.  I've also hung the curtains and some picture and have had a nice long shower.  Now I am reclining on the bed doing absolutely nothing and there is no one to tell me otherwise or make snarky remarks, about me doing it, behind my
back.  I may be poor, but I am very, very happy.

Couldn't have said it better myself

It has been an awful time in his life but even in this moment of sorrow and grief Rory Feek still manages to inspire those around him.  This quote about how is coping since his wife's passing sums up an incredible man;
"I will celebrate and capture the big stories and the small ones in my life. Because they are all part of a much larger story that someone else is telling."

Our new place

The plan was to buy, we couldn't find anything we liked in areas we liked so we rented.  It's an initial 6month lease, who knows what will happen.
It'll do for now.  It's clean and huge.
We've made it home already.

Healthy Breakfast

I'm making my way through my breakfast hotlist, I've had the fry up, scrambled eggs and hagel slag.  It's a bit sunnier today so I decided to have a healthy breakfast (I couldn't be bothered to make anything).

The cat is becoming famous

Cass the cat predicts sports wins.  It's an easy premise, put out two bowls of food next to two flags or team logos and which ever bowl the cat chooses will be the winning team.  That is what my brother has done with his cat.  The first video made me cringe, that's my big sister job.  Then a Local Welsh paper got the video and interviews bro, then BBC Wales got hold of the story and called him in the states to interview him live on air.  Now his local paper has popped round and interviewed the family and take their photo.  In these days of 15minutes of fame being fleeting I'd like to say well done guys and enjoy your moment in the spotlight.

Time for a glass of Cabernet

First week in the house is drawing to a close and what better way to celebrate than trying a new bottle of wine.  This is a Cabernet Carménère, let's give it a go.

Making himself at home

While I literally made the bed (it had over sixty screws) GO spent the evening hooking up the TV (another generous gift from the in laws) so we could watch Saturday Night Takeaway.

Priorities, right?

39 weeks till Christmas

Happy Third Anniversary

What a year it has been, we have finally moved.  GO quite his job and has now started working for an outdoor activity centre as a lead cook.  It is less pay but we have had so much more time together.  When you look back over your marriage you realise that it is most definitely the memoires and not the money that makes the love stretch and grow.

Breakfast in our new place

We woke up early on Saturday, for the first time in what seemed like ages we didn't have to get up.  We did but we didn't have to.
First meal in our new place, first meal in our new place, what to have???  The usual coffee and peanut butter toast, then I remembered my hagelslag.  Perfect.

We're in!

It was a hard old slog for Finlaw and GO, at any rate, but we are in our new house. As they emptied the storage unit of all our worldly goods, I began the great sort out.  It's been a few days and it's starting to feel like home.  I'm not totally enamoured with the bathroom, it's old and brown, but it's clean, now!  I pulled half a head of human hair from the plug hole, it was foul. I was sick and then had to alternate between cleaning up the hair and vomit.  I scrubbed the place. It's not perfect but at least it's clean.  Bonus we bought a new loo seat so at least our bottoms are the only ones that have sat on it.  The rest of the house was very clean or had been newly painted.  The rooms are very big, we are infamous for being hoarders and we've struggled to fill the house. It is starting to feel like home, I've spent the whole day here on my own today and  it's been lovely to have peace and quiet.
